Shilluk Creation Legend

Shilluk Creation Legend
This Sudanese tribe has a story that in the beginning there was a great creator named Jo-Uk who caused the Nile to give birth to a sacred white cow, who in turn gave birth to a son named Kola. The grandson of Kola, Ukwa, took as wives two river priestesses, and was the ancestor of the race. The present kings still take the title of Jo-Uk.
